About the thesis
This research explores the emotional toll experienced by women diagnosed with a molar pregnancy, an uncommon complication where abnormal tissue replaces a healthy placenta and carries a risk of malignancy. Facing both pregnancy loss and subsequent medical surveillance or chemotherapy, patients frequently suffer from elevated stress and anxiety that can endure for a year. While interview findings indicated overall contentment with clinical care, gaps emerged regarding clear communication, logistical support, and information quality. In response, the study evaluated a newly designed digital resource, demonstrating that providing online information enhanced patients' knowledge about their condition without increasing their distress.
