About the thesis
Using oligopoly and dynamic models, this research examines environmental policy design, corporate conduct, and strategic pricing. The findings show that media scrutiny helps socially responsible businesses remain viable over the long run. When balancing social welfare against ecological harm, government-optimal allocation of pollution permits in most cases requires authorities either to prohibit emissions completely or to allow unrestricted pollution. The thesis also introduces a dynamic surge pricing model to forecast demand throughout the product lifecycle and adjust prices accordingly.
