About the thesis
This research investigated the return-to-work trajectory of German employees suffering from common mental disorders, following their progress from taking sick leave through to the post-return period. Most individuals successfully returned, with phased reintegration used by eighty percent of those who had received psychiatric treatment. Work ability increased steadily, determining the level of support needed. Four distinct trajectories of work participation were identified, with sixty-five percent maintaining high or very high engagement. Finally, workplace adjustments can bolster long-term recovery and working capacity.
