About the thesis
The research examines how acquired viruses and inherited retroviral DNA within the human genome relate to immune aging and neurodegeneration. Findings indicate that specific inherited viral sequences change activity with age and link to brain cells affected by multiple sclerosis. Meanwhile, acquired viruses showed no age-related variation in activity or genetic diversity.
